Spay Neuter Assistance Program - House Pets

Low cost spay or neuter is available to those in need. An optional donation will be required to help us keep the SNAP program running. Additional fees may apply for required rabies vaccine and tests or services your pet needs.

A current Rabies Vaccine is required for ALL Cats and Dogs.

If you have a current Rabies Certificate for your pet from your Veterinarian, bring it with you and you will not be charged the $20 Rabies Vaccine fee.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION you need to know about using the SCHS SNAP Program

Use of this program is based on your need for financial assistance. You may be asked to provide your tax returns from the last two years in order to establish your need for assistance. Any documents you provide to SCHS will be held in strict confidence.

• The basic SNAP fee is based on whether or not your pet is a dog or cat, male or female.
  
  
• ALL FEES MUST BE PAID IN ADVANCE. If you do not show up for your appointment, you will forfeit the fees you paid. In the case of an emergency or situation at the shelter requiring it, we reserve the right to reschedule your appointment.
  
  
• You MUST drop off and pick up your pet at the times scheduled. We charge a $20.00 Late Fee for late drop-offs and pick-ups. If you do not drop off or pick up your pet on the day and time scheduled, these additional fees will apply. We depend on your cooperation to get as many animals “fixed” as possible. Pets left for additional day(s) will be charged a $20.00 per day kenneling fee.

• Pets must be licensed, as required by law. SCHS will help you with this process if your pet is not licensed.

• NO cat de-clawing, dog ear or tail docking will be done by SCHS. We will gladly do nail trims for an extra charge of $8.00.

• Owners having pets with ear mites or fleas will be advised to seek on-going treatment from their own Veterinarian.

• You must bring your cat to the shelter in a carrier. Dogs must be wearing a collar and be on a leash.

• Pet owners must supply all Vet records for their pet.
